| Spoiled FruitFunny how you leave a piece of fruit out in the sun for just one day and it goes bad, yet for days and weeks (the fruit's entire lifetime actually) before it's plucked out of nature, it's doin nothin but kickin it in the sun, all while remaining fresh as a peach (no pun intended).
Now that's a thinker.

| Major Milestone
My car hit a very big milestone the other day. Yes, it was indeed a momentous day for my Volvo. She saw the highest consecutive digits that she ever will see. Let's be honest. There ain't no way this baby's seein 234,567 miles.
Good thing I hit a red light, or else I would have had to post all the blurry pics that I took.
Hmm...I just had a deja vu.

| Boston '12And by '12, in case it isn't clear, I mean 2012. You've heard of Egypt March '09, or at least you should have. I've heard it for the past year or two. Well now that we have just about reached that destination, it's time to set our sights a little further: Boston April '12.
"Why Boston?" you ask? Because April 16th is the date of the Boston Marathon, the most prestigious Marathon in the country. It's so competitive that you must achieve a certain qualifying time to even be able to run it. "Why 2012?" you ask? Because that's how long it's going to take me to train for the qualifying time that I need. A male under 35 must run it in 3 hours 10 minutes. That's a 7 min 15 sec pace for 26 miles. Of course I could wait for 6 years till I'm 35 but that would only buy me 5 minutes! I'm thinking I better go for it while I'm still young.
"So How close are you?" you ask? Well, when I ran a marathon a year ago, I did it in at about a 10-minute pace. So, my goal for this year, 9-min pace. Goal for 2010, 8-min pace. Goal for 2011, 7-min pace, to qualify for 2012. Piece of cake!
So, book your plane tickets now (or in like 2.5 years when they start selling plane tickets for that date) and mark your calendars now (or in 3 years when you buy a 2012 calendar)! Only 1134 days left! I better start running!

| Cats and DogsOur good friend Labonee, aka Labs, aka the Lobster ran the Napa Valley Marathon this past weekend. Her first marathon, it was obviously a HUGE accomplishment! Raj, Shalini, and I went up there to show our support. We ran the 5K. I came in at a lean 23:50. Almost as fast as this 5-minute miler. It was raining the entire time too. I thought we had it real bad, until I thought of what Labs must have been going through.
The Lobster was running in the pouring rain for 4 and a half hours! We managed to catch her right before she crossed the finish line and as you can see, the rain couldn't break her spirits one bit!

| An HourHow valuable is an hour to you? What could you do in an hour? I could watch an episode of Lost and discuss it during commercials. I could spend an hour reading Lost emails with my Lost buddies. I could practice tabla. I could go for a run. I could work an extra hour at work and get a little more done. Or I could veg out in front of the TV and do nothing. Or maybe that is doing something. I could hang out with friends. Get a few drinks in a bar. I'm always trying to make valuable use of my time, but what constitutes a "valuable" use of time? Maybe sometimes vegging out in front of the TV could be extremely valuable? Or is it pretty much always a waste of time? If time is so valuable, why do we waste it so often?
